NEW YORK — Penthouse Magazine Group President and Publisher, Diane Silberstein, announced today that Mark Healy, Articles Editor of GQ magazine, has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Penthouse Magazine. Healy, who will join Penthouse on October 30, 2006, will be the magazine’s first Editor-in-Chief under Penthouse Media Group’s (PMGI) new ownership.
Regarding this pivotal hire, Silberstein cites, “Mark’s years of experience in the men’s field – combined with his own innate professional sensibility – equip him with a vision for Penthouse to be THE key magazine for young men today.”
Peter Bloch, Vice President, Editorial for Penthouse Media Group Inc. says, “Mark’s skill as an editor and writer and his ideas for Penthouse’s future make him ideal to guide us as we make the transition to a total men’s lifestyle magazine. I’m thrilled that he will be leading our team.”
Healy, who is 38, has been Articles Editor of GQ since 2003. Prior to that, he was Senior Editor at GQ, Senior Editor at Details, and Associate Editor at Rolling Stone.
“Like millions of men my age, I was a fan of the magazine in the 80s,” Healy says, “and I’m eager to reinvigorate it and to build on the radical improvements that Peter and his staff have made in the past six months. There’s a tremendous amount of power and potential in the Penthouse brand, and the new team is impressive and dedicated to making the magazine fresh, relevant, and competitive in the men’s category.”
Healy graduated from The University of Vermont, Burlington, VT with a B.A. degree in English. He currently resides in Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters.
