Plenty of other professions have educational requirements, so it’s not specific to the adult entertainment industry. I’m not pointing a dirty finger at porn and saying you need to know more about doing porn than some other job. Heck, even some fast food jobs have training weeks.

If someone can’t wait a few weeks to get into porn, either they didn’t plan ahead and get started with their classes before they wanted to begin working, and that doesn’t bode well for their looking-to-the-future skill set, or they’re broke and trying to make a quick buck to pay the overdue rent.

2. Using condoms entails potential exposure problems if they break, slip off, or otherwise malfunction, etc.

3. IMHO, AIM testing is helpful and reassuring as of the moment the specimen was taken, but talent behaviors (including the behaviors of those other individuals worked-with and/or played-with on or off camera) between test periods remain somewhat of a relative worry to some folks, thus risks need to always be considered and minimized.

4. IMHO, the actresses should have the right/choice to NOT work with anyone they are uncomfortable working with; likewise, the male talent should not have to work with any female talent they are uncomfortable about, including GIRLS who have worked with potentially riskier guys in the preceding 60 days (or to insist on two negative testing periods before working with such adult actresses?).

5. Because of the potential liability, IMO some companies might choose NOT to book the GIRLS who have worked with a guy who might possibly be a higher risk—in fact, unspoken “quarantining” of such girls until they subsequently test negative for TWO testing periods might become a policy of sorts for conscientious companies concerned about being sued? Hence, GIRLS working with a higher risk guy might themselves lose bookings?

6. IMHO, the Free Speech Coalition and AIM are to be commended for showing the health department and California Legislators that the Adult Film Industry is relatively well protected, especially vis-a-vis California society in general. IMO, we all need to do our share to insure that risks are always and comprehensively minimized.
