TEMPLETON, Calif. – We know it’s hard to believe but we actually have a Jeopardy-related news story up before Tod Hunter. That’s because the show’s host Alex Trebek almost gave the final Jeopardy answer this weekend when he fell asleep at the wheel of his pickup truck and nearly did a Helmut Newton.

Trebek sideswiped a string of mailboxes, then sailed 40 feet over an embankment into a ditch, authorities said. Trebek, 63, was driving alone on a rural road when the accident occurred.
