Los Angeles- from www.nbclosangeles.com – A local health clinic is fighting back against a possible hacker attack that revealed the HIV status and other personal details of thousands of porn stars.
“I can’t stress enough, we’re victims of a crime,” Jennifer Miller, a spokeswoman for AIM Medical Associates, P.C., told NBC LA on Thursday.
“Just like the Pentagon and the FBI, we have been victimized and hacked. We are investigating and we will press all charges.”
Porn Wikileaks, an open-source website, has posted the real names, birth dates, stage names and HIV status of more than 12,000 current and former performers since the domain name was created in December. The site was experiencing slow load times on Thursday.
Porn industry blogger Mike South claimed some the information was leaked from the AIM health clinic in Sherman Oaks, which regularly tests local porn stars for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
The clinic has opened an investigation into the allegations, said AIM’s attorney, Jeffrey Douglas.
Some of the information posted on Porn Wikileaks — home addresses, for example — is not stored in AIM’s database, and therefore could not have been gathered from AIM, Douglas said.
“Other testing businesses may or may not have such information on their databases,” said Douglas in a statement.
