St. Louis- Lawyers for a Central West End nightclub sued last Thursday to block a liquor license suspension sparked by a “Girls Gone Wild” event last fall.
St. Louis Excise Commissioner Robert Kraiberg originally imposed the 70-day suspension last fall, citing “lewd and indecent behavior,” dancing without a dance hall license and employment of a minor in a liquor establishment at The Vault, 4915 Delmar Boulevard, at the September event.
The club’s owners sued to block the suspension, but St. Louis Circuit Judge Lisa Van Amburg upheld the majority of Kraiberg’s rulings last month. She said only that he did not follow proper procedure when he cited the club for employing the 20-year-old and had to assign a specific number of days to each violation.
Kraiberg did, and set the new 70-day suspension for May 1. The club sued again Thursday, claiming Kraiberg’s decision was unconstitutional and arbitrary. The suspension is now on hold again.
