from www.abcactionnews.com – BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A Hernando County teacher was arrested Monday, accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy, according to deputies.

Cynthia Lynn Herr, 35, is charged with four counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Herr of Citrus County was a school teacher in Hernando County, teaching ESE students at John D. Floyd K-8 school in Brooksville.

According to deputies, Herr told a co-worker that she was having an intimate relationship with a 16-year-old. Detectives opened a criminal investigation after the co-worker reported the information to school administrators, which is required by law.

Investigators spoke to the 16-year-old male student, who confirmed that he and Herr were involved in a consensual, intimate relationship.

Detectives interviewed Herr on Monday, and she admitted to taking the student to a motel and having sex with him at least four times throughout the day on August 24.
