LA HABRA – from www.pasadenastarnews.com – Although the auction of her home was postponed Monday for a week, “Octomom” Nadya Suleman has filed for bankruptcy.

The mother of 14 said she filed for Chapter 7 on Monday in federal court.

“I have had to make some very difficult decisions this year, and filing Chapter 7 was one of them,” Suleman said in an email sent by her manager Gina Rodriguez of DD Entertainment Public Relations & Entertainment Group.

“But I have to do what is best for my children, and I need a fresh start,” she said.

Rodriguez denied reports by media outlets that her client may appear in pornographic films.

“Nadya is not considering adult movies,” Rodriguez wrote in an email. “What she said was misconstrued.”

In a video on CNN, Suleman said, “I wouldn’t even kiss somebody for money,” Suleman told Headline News’ “Showbiz Tonight” correspondent Nischelle Turner. “I would not kiss somebody. I wouldn’t touch somebody.”

Suleman invited Turner and a camera crew into her home on Friday to see how she’s dealing with the financial and parenting pressures.

People Magazine reported that she listed only $50,000 in assets against up to $1million in debts in the papers filed in federal court.

Suleman doesn’t specify the names of her creditors but provided a clue in the list of those receiving the bankruptcy papers, according to the publication’s website.

Businessman Amer Haddadin, who owns a $450,000-note on the 2,583-square-foot home, estimated that Suleman is 11 months behind on payments.

Suleman’s father purchased the home in 2009 for $565,000.

She agreed to pay $3,300 a month to cover the note on the Madonna Lane home.

For a year, the payments were made, Haddadin said.

But soon after, Suleman, who gave birth to octuplets on Jan. 26, 2009, began to miss the payments.

Although Haddadin threatened to evict Suleman, he never did.

Suleman, who was unemployed when she gave birth to the world’s only surviving octuplets, has struggled financially ever since the historic birth.

She has done interviews for television, websites and magazines for cash.

Suleman has also promoted spaying and neutering for an animal-rights group and gotten beat up in a celebrity boxing match.

In 2009, Suleman declined a million-dollar offer to appear in pornography but was recently paid an undisclosed amount for posing semi-nude and doing an interview in a British magazine.

Earlier this month police and California child welfare officials visited Suleman’s home after someone claimed that her children were living in squalor.

They did not find evidence that the children are in any danger.
