Ohio – March will be put up or shut up time for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. That’s when the office must argue the constitutionality of an attempt to ban clubs with nude dancers from selling liquor.
Last week some of the state’s strip clubs including Christie’s Cabarets in Brunswick, Cleveland and Youngstown, as well as the Buckeye Association of Club Executives – a nonprofit organization that supports strip club owners across the state – went to court in an attempt to block the proposed legislation.
Club owners asked U.S. District Judge Ann Aldrich to prevent the state from enforcing the new rule which was set to begin last Friday. Aldrich said the state cannot enforce the rule, at least for a month and that the attorney general’s office must present its arguments for enforcement of that law.
