Porn Valley- While articles in the NY Times and elsewhere lend the impression that porn’s going to the dog house, Penthouse continues to occupy the house at the top of the hill. At least where locations are concerned.

Another two movies are being shot this week by Kelly Holland- one is titled “Slumber Party”; the other called “Sleep Over” – variations on the same theme one might argue from the similarity of titles. And Tuesday finds elegant digs in Northridge being used.

Kerv of www.818movielocations.com, says this is his company’s flagship location. One look at cast member Bree Olson and you think this is the flagship of blonds. Olson’s barefoot, decked out in a purple top, white shorts, and she’s walking around on tippy toes. Olson’s certainly got the legs for the tippy toes.

On the other side of the coin, Nicole Sheridan’s shuffling along and nursing her steps like a marathon dancer. Asked what’s wrong, Sheridan explains she’s having problems with her feet and gives you a podiatrist’s rendition of what’s going on.

“People have a lot worse problems,” she states.

Newcomer Charles Dera is scheduled to work with Olson. There are no immediate problems as far as he’s concerned.

“This is a good day,” says Dera, taking a good look at Olson. Olson takes note that Mark Kernes of AVN has arrived.

“I’ve got to put my fake hair in,” she says.

Dera’s been in the business about six months and grew up in Morrisville, Pa. – my neck of the woods – and attended Pennsbury High School. Luke Ford from www.lukeisback.com, starts asking him the kind of questions you’d expect from Dr. Melfi on The Sopranos. This is not your basic porn interview. Ford wants to know, for instance, Dera’s first recollections from the crib, stuff like that. Dera, who’s been a Chippendale and physique model is, like, damned if I know. As if Chippendales think about things like this.

Putting it bluntly, Dera says he’s in the business because he loves women and money. He’s already logged something like 180 scenes, so he’s seen something of both. From the time he was a kid, Dera remembered that he wanted to be something magnificent.

“Even if I was a hit man,” he says.

Growing up, Dera described himself as a loner and would generally hang with a crowd of tough monkeys.

“I never quite fit in,” he says. “I was good at science but bored with school.” Dera then enlisted with the Marines for three years but feels he didn’t get the adventure he sought. Then, again, he didn’t know Bree Olson.

“Then I started modeling in New York and got into fitness modeling,” Dera continues.

“I enjoy my work and it’s challenging,” Dera says of his new occupation.

“It’s not the easiest thing- women on the outside don’t understand it.”

One supposes Dera learned the hard way when he talks about how he’s lost himself. Dera explains.

“I went through a break up with a girl a couple of days ago,” he says. “I neglected her and treated her more like a friend. I didn’t get too close to her because of this business.” To which Dera said she didn’t like the idea of him being in it.

“She kept quiet about it.”

Neither is Dera that close with his family, according to him. Dera also enjoys snowboarding and has been a professional fighter as well as having trained in the martial arts. But to hear him talk he’s the world champion glutton.

“I love to eat and I can eat more than most people,” he offers. Judging by what he’s just said about his fathomless capacity for eating and fucking, Ford concludes, “You’re pretty much like an animal.”

“Like a lion,” Dera clarifies, noting that he just returned from Africa where he worked for the Chippendales.

Dera didn’t have sex until the age of 18.

“I hated it,” he says. “I thought I was going to have STD’s and other diseases.” Likewise, Dera didn’t take his first drink until he was 27, explaining that his father had been an alcoholic. Outside of the number of scenes he’s been in, Dera has no idea of the number of women he’s been with.

“A handshake means more to me than sex,” he comments. “And porn is pretty much black and white- it is what it is.” Dera apparently derives his personal accomplishments from seeing how long he can last and how far he can go in a scene and that he’d rather have sex on camera than off. Dera, who was living in Las Vegas, mentions that he made his connections in the industry through Frank Reuben, the former owner of Fantasy Home Video. According to Dera, Reuben now owns a car wash in Las Vegas.

Someone in the crew brings up the Mel Gibson movie Apocalypto which prompts a variety of sub topics including one involving Scarlett Johansson. Jeff, one of the lighting guys, worked on the movie The Prestige and thought Johansson had a cute butt and a cute walk but lost points to Charlize Theron. As the topic drifts toward Disney films, Bree Olson’s coming down the stairs yelling about how she likes sticking her finger in her pussy. Which would be a natural seque under those circumstances.

Sunny Lane’s also in the cast and it appears that she’ll be working with Jack Venice. In an interview, I asked Lane if it was true that her parents had naked pictures of her on their refrigerator. Bristling, Lane knows exactly who was the source of the story and said she confronted her about it. Lane thinks a lot of this had something to do with Mike Moz and the fact Lane was friends with him.

Meanwhile Luke’s asking Sunny if it disturbs her about being asked to portray someone younger than 18. Perhaps 12.

“I can’t recall being made to look 12,” she says,flatly, indicating that she wouldn’t role play anything under the age of 18.

“That’s fresh and perky enough,” Lane says. Asked if she’s ever worked for Max Hardcore, Lane says no in a way that leaves any doors open to Pasadena firmly shut. But she seems to recall having done one photo shoot wearing white ankle socks.

According to her, Lane likes to be spanked, have her hair pulled and otherwise engage in rough, nasty sex. And she is into Belladonna.

“When I first started in the business people would ask if I’d do certain things- but I didn’t get asked to do the swirly donkey punch.” Barring an unglamorous slap to the side of the head, Lane enjoys being dominated.

“When power’s taken from me it’s intense,” she insists. “With the right guy I like to be dominated.” But Lane isn’t seeing anyone special.

“I do see people- not just one significant other.”

Wearing pink lingerie, Lane’s shooting her pretty girls bathed in a slat-shadows effect. Bree Olson, who earlier asked if anyone wanted to watch her douche, is asked in a BTS sequence about doing double anal.

“Maybe years down the line,” says Olson in a way suggesting that it’s more years than anyone in the room can afford to wait. Olson says what turns her on is bending over so she can spread her ass. She offers a demonstration and screams out, “Show me what a fucking whore I am!”

Olson’s questioned about where all that instant aggression came from.

“It all started when I was five,” she says.
