ST. PAUL, Minn.UPI) — A pastor for a virtual church that meets in a school in a Minneapolis suburb was arrested in an online prostitution sting, police said.
Police in St. Paul, Minn., said the Rev. John Kameron Erbele, 35, senior pastor of LifePrint Church, was among the 16 johns arrested Tuesday after responding to an online prostitution ad, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Thursday.
Erbele could not be reached for comment Wednesday, both the Pioneer Press and the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. His Web site said the church, a member of the National Association of Evangelicals, meets at a middle school in Prior Lake, on the western side of the Twin Cities.
The Web site, LifePrintChurch.net, said Erbele “has had over 13 years experience in the church and virtual world.”
His church’s Web site stresses the use of the Internet in reaching followers, the Pioneer Press said.
“Our vision is to be a place where reality, virtuality and faith collide,” the Web site said.
Erbele, who gave jail officials an address in Missoula, Mont., was arrested on St. Paul’s East Side and booked on a misdemeanor charge of engaging in prostitution. He was released after posting $500 bail.
