from www.spinner.com – Bringing her usual brand of electro-shock-rock to Miami Beach, Peaches performed at an invite-only laser show at the Moore Space on Thursday night. The event was so secret that many attendees were unaware that Peaches was even performing; they were there instead to see the release of the Bally Love collection, a collaboration between leather brand Bally and Swiss artists such as Philippe Decrauzat. It was a night dedicated to deep contrast as the big red glowing word LOVE stood facing the stage where Peaches soon emerged in all her bold gender-bending glory.
Taking center stage wearing a silver space suit and donning a new streamlined mullet, Peaches was surrounded by her band, Sweet Machine, as deep bass notes penetrated and shook the room. Spectacular lasers punctuated the start of ‘Diddle My Skittle,’ a song from her 2009 LP ‘I Feel Cream,’ as the musicians plucked away at three harps that rose from the stage.
At the outset, Peaches’ android-like presence created an unsettling calm before the storm. By the end of the second song, the queen of crude was up to her usual antics: faking an orgasm and fondling a large glow stick, all the while asking, “are you feeling this Miami?!”
But the real shocker came midway through the show as the now infamous Danni the Tranny (aka Danni Daniels) took the stage completely nude. Peaches was hoisted atop the shemale pornstar’s shoulders for ‘Show Stopper,’ a fitting title considering the audience was getting a look at Danni’s 36D chest and extremely well-endowed member, all of which was covered in glitter.
After that, Peaches stripped down to her well-known nude leotard, Kill shirt, and cape for the title track off ‘I Feel Cream.’ Danni exposed herself a few more times before Peaches closed the show out with her 2000 hit F— the Pain Away. In true Peaches fashion, the performer took a bow facing away from the audience and thanked them with a perfect view of her scantily clad rear. Once again, she proved that art is always more fun with a little shock therapy.
