NEW YORK — Penthouse is pulling out all the stops for its 40th anniversary with a Special Collector’s Edition double issue. This special Anniversary Issue boasts a retrospective celebration of the past 40 years – from Penthouse’s hard-hitting journalism to the most scandalous exposes, from our funniest humor pieces to, of course, the customary beautiful women, who grace more than 90 pages of the magazine.
That classic Penthouse material is complemented by fresh new interviews (country singer Jason Aldean; comedian David Cross), articles (the Manhattan Madam on Wall Street’s sexual excess; the military mortgage crisis), and seven new and incredibly stimulating pictorials featuring a bevy of beautiful women, including our lust-worthy Pet of the Month Taylor Vixen and cover girl Gemma Massey.
“The 40th Anniversary Issue features the best of Penthouse from yesterday and today,” says Executive Editor Barbara Rice Thompson. “We are extremely proud of the magazine and excited for Penthouse loyalists to see what we have in store for them! This special issue also shows new readers the high-quality erotic images and editorial they can expect every month in our twenty-first century incarnation.”
In anticipation of increased sales for Penthouse’s 40th anniversary, many wholesalers and specialty distributor accounts throughout the United States and Canada and internationally placed orders for additional copies. Retailers are participating in special programs to enhance exposure – marquee cover and mainline feature programs. Penthouse Magazine has also recently expanded distribution to several new major retail chain accounts. Consumers will also receive a special Penthouse DVD or a 24-page pictorial bonus outsert with the issue depending on their locale.
To coincide with the 40th Anniversary Issue release, beginning the week of July 21st Penthouse Pets Julie Strain, Taylor Vixen and Aimee Sweet, as well as the Manhattan Madam, Kristin Davis, are scheduled to appear on media outlets all over the country. Additionally, Howard Stern’s On Demand channel, Howard TV, is planning to dedicate an hour-long special, “Best of Penthouse Pets”, which will be available for the duration of the Anniversary Issue’s on sale period.
