VAN NUYS, Calif. – When men have questions about pornography and its impact on women, who better to ask than a woman who makes her living creating and distributing Internet porn?

That’s the thinking behind a new video Q&A with Pink Visual President Allison Vivas posted this week to AskMen.com www.askmen.com/video/dating/pornography-and-women-video.html

While most of the videos of this sort that AskMen.com has featured in the past have been fairly straightforward, interview-style segments, Vivas opted to go in another direction, one that is perhaps more appropriate for a porn studio; namely, the ‘porn parody’ route.

“When I first wrote responses to the questions AskMen sent along, I felt like the answers were a little dry,” Vivas said.

“I didn’t want to send back some dull, matter-of-fact video response, because the opportunity to address AskMen’s audience doesn’t come along every day. I wanted to do something a bit more creative and memorable.”

The result is a video that parodies the same expressive form that Vivas was asked to comment on, interspersing her responses with what Vivas terms “porn cliché interruptions.” Depicted sitting at her desk and typing her responses to AskMen into her digital diary (while an audible version is delivered to viewers via a voiceover), Vivas finds herself barged in on first by a pizza delivery guy, then a plumber and finally a pool boy, all of whom are played by Pink Visual director Matt Morningwood.

The questions addressed in the video include: “Does porn disempower women,” “What are some ‘porn moves’ that guys should never use in real life,” and “Is there anything wrong with watching a lot of porn?”

Endeavoring to provide suitable answers to the question and comic relief at the same time, Vivas’ responses are peppered with both substance and irreverence. In response to the question about ‘porn moves’ men should avoid in real life, Vivas quips: “Anal should never be a surprise. It should be treated like you’re in talks with North Korea; many, many diplomatic sessions. And even if we agree to it, we’ll probably renege on the deal later.”

While Vivas said there’s “no danger that I’ll switch careers and try to make it as an actress,” she was very happy with how the video turned out.

“The crew here did a great job, and I think we achieved the goal of coming up with something that’s entertaining and silly while still getting across the serious points I wanted to make,” Vivas said. “It helped that AskMen asked great questions, and happened to touch on some areas that I’ve already given a lot of thought to over the years I’ve worked in the adult industry.”
