It seems a woman is suing the Chatsworth-based sex toy company Pipedream Products, whose slogan goes, “We Don’t Make the Orgasm … We Make the Orgasm BETTER!” for allegedly doing quite the opposite.

The woman – April Bonjour – says foreplay turned foul when she and he boyfriend revved up a Pipedreams vibrator.

The lawsuit, first reported by Courthouse News Service, was filed in northern California’s Siskiyou County. Bonjour is representing herself.

It is, perhaps, best for everyone to let Bonjour tell her own story (paragraph breaks added):

On November 3, 2010 my boyfriend and I used a Pipedream Products vibrator/dildo during foreplay. During usage I felt an intense sharp pain inside of my vagina. My boyfriend quickly removed the toy, it was covered with blood.

I thought, very briefly, that I had started my period but as the bleeding continued getting heavier and heavier I knew it was not my period. I went through all of my sanitary pads and was passing clots of blood. The bleeding slowed down but when I had to get up to change my pad I would pass a clot and then start bleeding again.

I started to get faint from the loss of blood my boyfriend called 911. By the time they got there I was in and out of consciousness. My son was woken up so we could go to the hospital. He was terrified at the sight of me.

He thought I was dying (quite frankly so did I). Once we got to the hospital I had lost so much blood I was given several pints of blood.

My family and myself have endured extreme emotional duress due to this episode. We have contacted the maker of this product to see what their compensation for the occurrence will be. They have denied my claim. It is for this reason I have initiated this lawsuit.

That wasn’t the case for one Northern California woman, and that’s why she’s suing.

April Bonjour filed suit against Pipedream Products, after having a rather terrifying experience with one of their products.

According to the Huff Post, her claim states she and her boyfriend were getting frisky with the sex toy, she noticed something wasn’t quite right.

“During usage I felt a sharp pain inside my vagina,” she wrote. “My boyfriend quickly removed the toy, it was covered with blood.”

Initially she thought what anyone would think, that she may have started her period, however the bleeding didn’t stop and she began slipping in and out of consciousness.

“My son was woken up so we could go to the hospital,” she wrote. “He thought I was dying…[and] quite frankly so did I.”

Bonjour was stabilized at the hospital where she was treated with several pints of blood.

Pipdreams refused to pay her compensation for the traumatic experience, which is the reason for the current lawsuit.
