LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police say a man charged in the shooting deaths of his stepmother and half-sister told them he had sex with his stepmother’s corpse.

Twenty-year-old Martin Hughes did not talk about the deaths when he was arraigned Monday morning, only telling the judge he needed a public defender.

Hughes is charged with killing 39-year-old Laura Hughes and her 12-year-old daughter, Tessa.

They were found dead in their Louisville home Saturday morning.

According to the arrest report, Hughes told police he had intercourse with his stepmother after she was dead.
