Basically like James Bond I flew from the States to Madrid ( in the same suit ! ) and went to Madrid to the most anticipated wedding of year : my dear friends Francesco and Damien got married ! It was my first gay wedding ever and I was pretty excited. Spain is so liberal and ahead compared to other European countries ( including Italy ..trash that Pope already ! ) to allow marriages between couples of the same sex.

In a rainy but romantic spring evening Francesco and Damien pronunced their vows at a lovely country house just outside Madrid in front of a small group of friends and family who came from all over the world. Damien’s mother and cousins came from Miami, me and Sue from New York, most of Francesco’s family from Rome and one cousin even from Australia ! And of course the big new “family” of friends from Madrid. The ceremony was very touching : Francesco cried like a bay when Damien was reading his promise..and it was very moving to see the support of their mothers and relatives blessing their love!
