from www.helium.com – Everyone makes mistakes, but there is a growing trend among “entertainers” in the adult film industry that have done things that are not just stupid, but in many cases criminal.
Granted, people not in the adult industry have done many of the same things and suffered the same consequences. The difference being, when porn stars or porn star wannabes do it and get caught it makes the press.
In part that is due to their celebrity and perhaps because a certain segment of society likes to get very righteous and point their finger saying “I told you they were bad people!” The reality of it though is that for many people, it is just another form of voyeurism – except in this case it is watching the tragedy in their real life, and not the sex on film, because it is far stranger than any soap opera you’ll ever see.
On May 16, 2010, Amanda Logue (Sunny Dae) and Jason Andrews (Addsion) allegedly murdered Dennis “Scooter” Abrahamsen, a New Port Richey tattoo artist by bludgeoning and stabbing him to death.
They stole $6,000, and were arrested two days later. They were later indicted on July 16, 2010. They got caught because they were stupid enough to text and Tweet what they were doing before and after the murder allowing the police to reconstruct their activities and make an arrest. Logue was arrested, but quickly flipped and implicated Andrews as the real murderer.
Steven Clancy Hill (Steve Driver) became so upset by hearing he was about to be fired that he used a prop sword on the set at a cast party to stab three people, fatally wounding one, Herbert Wong (Tom Dong). He eluded the police for two days, and in a true idiot move tried to hold them at bay with the same prop sword when he was cornered on a 40 foot cliff in the West Hills just outside of Canoga Park on June 5, 2010. Once the standoff drug on for 8 hours and it began getting dark, police shot him with a stun gun, he stumbled backwards, and then fell to his death off the cliff.
Bryan Kocis was murdered by Joseph Kerekes and Harlow Cuadra on January 24, 2007. The pair are alleged to have stabbed Kocis, and then burn his house down to cover the crime with Kocis in it. The reason behind the murder was allegedly because they wanted to work with actor Sean Lockhart, but couldn’t because they were not a part of Kocis’ production company. Both were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Robert Rosenberg [pictured] was charged with drug possession, human trafficking, and spreading a sexually transmitted disease. The story goes that Rosenberg’s maid stole from him, so in lieu of pressing charges he allowed her to pay off the debt by making a porn film. The maid contended she had no choice and was forced to do so. Her story however was just flimsy enough to fall apart and the charges were dropped – aside from the drug charge for the possession of cocaine for which Rosenberg received 1 year of probation.
In 2008, Joy Marquat who was known as “Farrah” in her acting days got 3 years in prison for using fake ID’s in the names of real people to withdraw large sums of money from their bank account. Although she got past a few tellers on the snooze, when she tried to pull the wool over on one New Jersey teller with an awful fake ID, she was caught and convicted with no problem. She was sentenced to three years in prison.
Genevieve Elise Silva who was 20 in December of 2005 at the time of her arrest was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, statutory rape of a 15 year old boy, and providing drugs to a minor (Ecstacy and meth). She further was said to have used the drugs to convince the boy to run away from his home in New York in order to move in with her at her Oklahoma home.
Jack Reid (Jack Venice) was convicted in 2007 on three counts of burglary and one count of second degree rape. While in Washington State, he and an accomplice began breaking into sorority houses on the campus of WSU. During one of those break-ins, Reid raped a sleeping coed.
For something different, Kathryn Gannon (Marilyn Starr) was charged with receiving stock tips. In 200, Gannon was having an affair with James McDermott who was the CEO of Keefe, Bruyette and Woods which was a Wall Street firm with multi-billion dollar assets. McDermott passed information to Gannon about some upcoming deals who then in turn took that information to another man she was having an affair with, Anthony Pompino of New Jersey, who then acted on the inside information. Pomino and McDermott were convicted of insider trading receiving a $25,0000 fine, 300 hours of community service, and a 27 month jail sentence. Gannon on the other hand fled to her native Canada, was extradited, and then only sentenced to three months in prison.
One of the most disgusting cases is that of Fleur Brown who tried to have a 13 year old girl appear in an adult film. When it proved impossible to do so through any reputable, or even half-reputable distribution or production company, Fleur decided instead to sell the young girl’s virginity. She was stupid enough to take out ads to facilitate the deal. A Newspaper had one of their reporters go undercover posing as a wealthy businessman interested in purchasing the rights to deflower the young girl. The pair struck a deal, and when the meeting was set, police arrived on the scene arresting Fleur. What is truly stupid is that Fleur only received a suspended sentence – thanks for the liberalism Europe!
It all has the makings of an incredible soap opera, and it just goes to show that no matter what you do for a living, how famous you think you are, or how above the law you may feel, everyone is capable of doing something stupid. Adult film stars are just more entertaining when they do it. Keep in mind however before judging that not all people in the adult entertainment industry are bad or immoral, it is just idiots like these that spoil it for everyone.
