Canada- A West Vancouver parent is outraged after finding porno in a shopping mall clothing retailer.
Trina Campbell says she was astonished to find a copy of BUTT Magazine in American Apparel Outfitters while shopping with her 13-year-old daughter at Park Royal Mall.
Workers at the store have declined to comment and representatives at American Apparel head offices did not return phone calls from The Outlook.
Butt Magazine is listed on the company’s online International Newsstand section, sold with other art, fashion, lifestyle and sex magazines such as Self Service Magazine, He Magazine, Mode Depesche and Fantastic Man.
American Apparel, launched as a retail venture by controversial fashion baron Dov Charney in 2003, has very openly forged its brand with references to campy disco sexuality.
Its advertising campaigns and in-store artwork have consistently shown men and women, often employees of the company, in their underwear, equating the logo-free, simple basics with assertive sexuality.
