Chicago- R&B star R. Kelly’s trial on child pornography charges has been delayed after the presiding judge was hospitalised in Chicago, Illinois, after falling from a ladder. Judge Vincent Gaughan is in the intensive care unit at a Chicago hospital after falling while trying to fix a skylight at his home on Saturday evening.
Pretrial hearings in the case were scheduled to begin on Tuesday, but this date may have to be rearranged following Judge Gaughan’s injuries.
R. Kelly – real name Robert Sylvester Kelly – has been fighting charges of making child pornography since he was arrested in 2002. The girl in the tape, which was made between 1998 and 2000, could have been as young as 13 years old, prosecutors claim.
