CANOGA PARK, Calif. — XBiz.com is reporting that The Free Speech Coalition will attend a meeting next week in Costa Mesa with Cal-OSHA.
In a press release that came out this week Cal-OSHA announced that among other safety implementations it would be considering a change in current state regulations and require condom and other barrier protection use on adult production sets.
In its statement Cal/OSHA was also recommending the creation of an advisory committee to consider amending section 5193 of the California labor code in order to give greater protection to employees in the adult film industry.
FSC claims that Cal-OSHA is receiving pressure from the Aids Healthcare Foundation which is not a stake holder in the adult business and is conducting a witch hunt in its attempts to disseminate misinformation.
“This is a workplace safety issue. AHF has no presence in the industry and, therefore, is not a stakeholder,” FSC executive director Diane Duke told XBiz.
“Stakeholders include performers, producers and individuals who work on or around production sets.”
Duke said the meeting will provide the adult industry an opportunity to address its concerns with a Bloodborne Pathogen plan that was not designed to address adult entertainment industry issues.
