I know Rob Black pretty well. You’d always find him hanging around the AVN offices drumming up support for his movies, but we met “officially” when I wrote a huge piece about his and Tom Byron’s departure from Elegant Angel.

Rob and Tommy went on to form Extreme Associates. Point of fact, Extreme, at its zenith, with its eccentric cast of characters was a loony bin of brilliant ideas. And there were some that were not. I was there to see it all, so I know.

Black, who even ran for mayor of Los Angeles, always struck me as the enfant terrible of the porn business. That could have been all a clever act, as though he were playing a part on stage.
