Posted on www.fredsalaff.com: A few minutes ago I was able to communicate with Fred Salaff. He is deeply distressed and in bad emotional shape for the situation he and the crew face. He described the conditions of the jail as “an overcrowded sewer”.

Chris and I were able to scrape up some money from our paychecks and send him a fan, norvask for his blood pressure for 15 days, two doses of primotestone DEP, soap, 5 toothbrushes, some small towels, and some fresh fruit to get some vitamin C. His daily meal consists of: Breakfast: A piece of bread with a slice of cheese on it. Lunch: rice with beans. Dinner: rice with beans. As I said the rice is almost always scorched, and it is of course the cheapest rice, the broken grain kind with sometimes very small pebbles in it that chip your teeth.

Sometimes, as a bonus, they throw in some hotdog sausage sliced in with the beans. Again, cheapest kind and Fred reported that it gives them an upset stomach. He has lost a lot of weight in the 30 days plus he has been in jail.

I should point out that it is only now with the new legal team that we are able to get medicines into the jail system, and they have done in one week what couldn’t be done in the previous three.

No matter what we are doing, in the last 15 days we have only been able to collect $200 from R.B. via paypal, for which we are extremely grateful. I took out the Ikobo payment system to concentrate on just one type of payment, but you can certainly still send us money via wire transfer, western union, paypal or u.s. checks

As I said, Fred switched lawyers, and that in itself is another large bill. We are always hopeful, and trying to sell Fred’s house to pay for the legal expenses, but this is not something that happens overnight. Bottom line is, when Fred does get out, he will have nothing to his name anymore, but at least he’ll have his freedom. ANYTHING you can do to help is gratefully appreciated. We beg for your help.
