from www.naplesnews.com – Fired Fort Myers Beach town manager Scott Janke says rumors that his wife worked as an escort before they were married are just that – rumors – and are completely untrue.
Janke was terminated July 21 after town council members learned his wife Anabela Mota Janke is also porn actress Jazella Moore.
“No,” Janke said of his wife working as an escort. “That’s crazy.”
An article on an adult Web site – one that shows a graphic photo spread of Moore – includes a link to a Room Service Girls site. One of the girls listed there is Erica, whose age and vital statistics match those of Moore.
“Erica is a local lady who will only be available on a limited basis while she pursues her budding career in the world of adult films,” the ad says. “Erica has outstanding reviews so catch her while you can.”
The ad describes Erica as “a beautiful Latin woman with a personality and attitude that will make your heart melt.” Moore’s own Web site says she’s from Portugal.
“Check out her latest video for free here,” the ad offers.
The link leads to a Jazella Moore video at a Web site.
“People can put stuff together and do (stuff) like that,” Janke said.
But it will get easier to see Jazella Moore on the Internet. Janke said a new Web site is being built.
“Her Web site was really lackadaisical, sort of an intro with no way to make money,” he said. “Her agent got her a new webmaster.”
That’s the same webmaster who created the site ClubJenna.com for porn megastar Jenna Jameson.
“As a coincidence it’s gotten so big on her side she’s probably going to be able to get some more work,” he said.
Janke said he never gave any thought to telling town council members how his wife makes a living until a local reporter called him to ask about it. After that, he said, things happened fast.
Janke said the council could have allowed him to resign, keeping termination off his resume, and granted him a severance package. His contract called for six weeks pay if he resigned, but six months severance if he was terminated.
Janke got some support this week from former Fort Myers Beach Mayor Dennis Boback. In a letter to the local weekly papers and the newsletter of the Beach Civic Association, of which he’s a board member, Boback hints some council members were looking for a reason to get rid of Janke.
Boback said the fact his wife is a porn actress is “a feeble excuse” for the council to rid itself of Janke. He said when he left town hall he warned Janke to “watch his back.”
Boback said if the town council is to make moral judgments it should look to its own. Council woman Jo List is “a bar room singer” Boback says, a profession that some disapprove of.
List is a singer who did session work in the northeast before moving to Southwest Florida in 1995, and has sung in numerous local bars since.
“To compare me to Jazella’s work is interesting I guess,” List said. “But we’ve got so much stuff on our plate that’s way more important to the people of Fort Myers Beach.”
Boback said he thought Janke was doing a good job, and that he should have been called before the council to explain and discuss his situation.
“If he stayed it would have been less,” he said. “There’s a furor for a few days and then it goes away. I think it would have been a one-day wonder. If it becomes a distraction, then OK, you deal with it.”
