Scotty Schwartz writes: Gene, Although I’ve been gone from the biz for quite a long time, almost 7 years now, I just had to write….
Upon hearing the news of Chet’s passing it not only saddened me, but made me look back… Chet was on the very 1st set I ever went to back in 1988. It was Ron Jeremy’s Winnebago trip up to Oakland to shoot “The Great Sex Contest” with Chet, Tracy Adams, Dana Lynn, Alexa Parks and others… it was one of those crazy trips they took back then to get out of LA and shoot. Back then Chet was this shy, lanky, nice quiet guy… but once you talked to him, he always had a good word and a smile… I was only the PA sandwich guy… and he being fairly new to the biz was a little nervous and being it was my 1st adult set I was just bright eyed and bushy tailed with excitement… we had some really good words for one another over the few days we hung out… Over the years I would run into Chet, have a few words, a smile and a handshake… I saw him last several years ago with Monique and life seemed like it was being good to him.. I had heard about the dependency problems he had, but I always prayed he’d get over them… now he is gone… what can we say or do? Just that we miss him. What can we do… Well, I sent $50 to the paypal link that Randy Spears is running and I hope that anyone else who either knew him, worked with him OR just enjoyed his work sends in a few dollars… it’s going to a beautiful young girl of 4 who will need new clothes, school books next year and someday college… AND to those companies he worked for… How bout throwing in a few bucks… it’s not going waste, it’s going for a childs welfare !
That 101 Girl movie Chet did…. I know A TON of those tapes were sold, that company (U know who you are), should toss in like $ 5K to the kids college fund (how bout a $5000 savings bond, only costs $2500 & it’ll be worth $5000 when the kid needs it)… and there other companies who made quite a bit off of Chet’s work who could also throw in some cash.. WE give money to strangers, we give money to Jerry’s kids & MDA, let’s give some to someone we actually KNOW and care for !!! DIG DEEP !!!! I feel saddened of course for Monique and somewhere out there is Deidre. even though they were divorced years ago, being married to someone is a life long thing and memories remain… To both of them I send my deepest sympathies and fondest wishes for a better future. Mostly, to the daughter he leaves behind.. just know your papa was a good, kind and gentle soul… a good man who although he’s gone will always be with you in spirit. Monique and your daughter, may the good lord bless you from this day forward and to Jon, rest in peace my friend…Sincerely,Scotty Schwartz
