JERSEY CITY, N.J.—Screw publisher Phil Autelitano has initiated efforts to recruit studio partners for ALVIN, a new adults-only streaming device. The device is designed to reintroduce premium adult entertainment to the living room, following Roku's removal of adult content in 2022.
ALVIN: A New Approach to Adult Streaming
ALVIN, named in honor of Screw magazine founder Al Goldstein, was developed in response to the adult industry's loss of television distribution. The device aims to address the challenge of getting adult content back onto the largest screen in the house without requiring studios to develop dedicated television applications. Instead, ALVIN utilizes a TV-optimized web browser, allowing viewers to access participating websites using their existing memberships and logins.
According to a Screw representative, studios have invested years in developing websites and premium member experiences. The representative stated that the content has not been the problem, but rather the distribution of that content to televisions. ALVIN seeks to resolve this by enabling studios to continue using their current subscription systems, payment processors, affiliate programs, and member management tools, while extending their reach to television viewers.
Autelitano noted that ALVIN requires minimal technical integration. Existing websites will remain the primary destination, which allows studios to leverage their current infrastructure. This approach aims to simplify the process for publishers and provide a convenient and responsible viewing experience for consumers.
Recruiting Founding Partner-Studios
Screw is currently inviting a limited number of "founding partner-studios" to participate in ALVIN's initial launch. The launch is planned for the 2026 holiday season. Participating studios are expected to receive prominent placement on the platform and will contribute to shaping the launch experience as ALVIN expands its content offerings.
Autelitano stated that ALVIN is intended to be a platform built with the industry, not just for the industry. Screw is seeking studios interested in collaborating to bring adult entertainment back to television. Studios interested in becoming founding partners or learning more about sponsorship and promotional opportunities can contact Autelitano directly.
