(WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA) — Jet Set Productions has cast adult entertainment personality, Jason Sechrest, as the host of their latest feature, “American Porn Star,” where he will make the role of “American Idol” host, Ryan Seacrest, his own, in what is possibly the most prominent non-sex role ever shot for a XXX movie. “They set aside an entire 24 hour block to shoot my dialogue scenes,” explained Sechrest to AVN.com in an exclusive interview yesterday evening. “I have never seen such an extensive non-sex role in an adult movie. I think they have me in just about every piece of the script that isn’t a sex scene. Matthew’s writing is just so impressive to me. It was like he tailored the script for my kind of tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic sense of humor.”
Matthew Moore is serving as the writer/director for Jet Set’s “American Porn Star” project, which will be released hot on the heels of their recent mainstream crossover feature, “The Hole,” a gay porn parody of the motion picture, “The Ring,” directed by mainstream crossover director, Wash West, of “The Fluffer” fame. “The Hole” was the subject of the West Hollywood based Virgin Megastore’s first-ever porn signing last week and with it, Jet Set has raised the bar for adult video productions and publicity.
“The irony of having Jason Sechrest in Ryan Seacrest’s role is not only in the similarity of their last names,” says Jet Set’s director of publicity, Brett Drysdale, “but also the fact that Jason Sechrest is sort of the Ryan Seacrest of the straight and gay adult world, what with the shows he’s hosted and been a broadcaster for. Jason is hilarious in his part and carries just about all of the dialogue for the movie on his shoulders. He even had his hair cut and colored to look like Ryan’s for the shoot. I have a feeling there won’t be much competition for Best Non-Sex Performance at The GayVN Awards next year.”
Jason Sechrest has been an active part of the adult entertainment world since he was 16 years old, as either a print journalist, broadcast journalist, Internet radio show host, or publicist to the porn stars. Now at the age of 23, he owns his own company, DV8 Incorporate, which “incorporates” all of those aspects of his work. He is essentially living every 23 year old boy’s dream, and his web site, JasonCurious.com, gives the regular Joe an opportunity to live vicariously through someone who is friends with every porn star, male or female, straight or gay, you’ve ever wanted to sleep with.
Sechrest made a turn to mainstream acting last year, when Concorde/New Horizons snagged him for a supporting role in the horror film, “Final Exam,” which is slated for an international release this Fall. The casting decision made headlines in the Daily Variety last August due to Sechrest’s association with adult entertainment. Sechrest and his site have also been covered by everyone from MTV News to Rolling Stone magazine after an incident in Vegas last year when he had Snoop Dogg and his 30+ possee removed from his private suite at The Venetian Hotel during Sechrest’s after party for The AVN Awards.
“American Porn Star” is tentatively scheduled for a June release, starring Jason Adonis, Derec Lang, Tag Eriksson, Alec Powers, Lorenzo Vargas, Ken Scott, Ben Campezi, and Rico Suave.
