Porn Valley- Earlier this month Selena Silver began a new series on “The Inside View” , www.ksexradio.com entitled “Women Directors in Porn” . The goal of the series is to bring the porn fan the best women directors in the business and find out what makes them do what they do.
The first of a four part series featured Hustler director Kat Slater, who made a mainstream film for MGM before she began directing in porn and who has never performed in front of the camera.
The second installment tonight brings you legend female performer turned director Jewel De’Nyle, one of the founders of Platinum X Pictures.
Jewel is one of the biggest names in the industry over the past 5 + years. She is an AVN Female Performer of the Year award winner, a XRCO New Starlet of the Year and 2-Time XRCO Female Performer of the Year award winner, an Adam Film World Female Director of the Year award winner, and a 2-Time CAVR Hottest Porn Star award winner.
After performing in over 300 adult films, Jewel has retired from performing and is focusing on building Platinum X Pictures into one of the top adult film production companies in the industry.
I am very interested to hear her take on being a female director in the adult industry – and very interested in hearing the differences in perspective from a director who has been a stand out performer in front of the camera as opposed to one who has never been in front of the camera.
Also on the show is Kylie Irelend . Kylie Ireland, the long time VCA contract girl, is also a true star in the industry. She won AVN’s Best New Starlet in 1995 as she began her career and in 2002 was named by AVN to the “Top 50 Porn Stars” list.
Kylie has just signed an exclusive performing/directing contract with Platinum X Pictures.
Kylie is very active with her website and hosts a weekly radio show on KSEXradio entitled “Kylie Live” (it is on every Thursday from 9:00-10:00pm PST). She is a frequent guest and guest host on Playboy Radio.
It will be interesting to hear the differences (if any) in their perspective due to the different career path’s they took in their porn careers.
The focus of this show is the dynamic of being a female director in porn and how that affects their porn. There is a large fascination with female porn directors, and we are here to find out more. This show is about Jewel and Kylie.
However, due to the current crisis in the porn industry, we will spend a BRIEF time on the show finding out Jewel’s and Kylie’s thoughts on the crisis since they are both very influential females in our industry.
