Porn Valley- The annual Legends of Erotica Show, www.xxxdeepthroat.com, will be held Friday, January 12 in Las Vegas at Ray Pistol’s Showgirls. As always, Bill Margold is the heartbeat that pumps blood into the event. According to Margold, some details are in flux but the show’s headliners are Serena and Sean Michaels.

“I’ve reached out to Herschel Savage,” adds Margold. “But he hasn’t given me a definitive yes or no. Jill Kelly would be the ‘Angel’ of [Jim] Holiday’s Angels this year.” Margold states that one of the policies will be that an ‘angel’ will be inducted.

“It’s fitting that right before Holiday died, he inducted Selena [Steele]; and then I inducted him,” Margold goes on to say. “Then Shayla went in after he died. And Shayla named Tiffany Mynx to the next one. Last year, she [Mynx] named Jill Kelly so in a sense the angel will choose the next angel. I don’t think we’ll run out for awhile. There’s still a few down the line.”

Margold said there have been others invited to be inducted that include Minka and the original Ruby [“she had a good imprint on the business,” says Margold].

“And then there’s Jon Martin from the earliest days,” he adds. “That’s what I have so far.” Martin, whose career goes back to the days of Behind the Green Door, was at last year’s event and Margold told him come back the following year, you get to go in.

But the tentative plan for 2008 is to make Ron Jeremy the sole inductee and make the whole evening with Jeremy as center of attention, says Margold, noting that it would be Jeremy’s 30th anniversary in the business.

“He has a book coming out,” states Margold. “Another person with a book out and enjoyable is [Al] Goldstein. Of everything I’ve read about this business it’s the most demanding looking at it. Because it’s a whole series of car accidents in the book. Goldstein and I have been through a lot and I have contacted his publicist. It dawned on me that it would be a perfect time to put him in ‘Legends’

“The thing that separates Legends from any other form of Hall of Fame, even the XRCO, is that a person going in has to choose the person most important to them in their careers to put them in,” Margold points. “That emotion on the stage is about the most emotion you’re going to get on any level. Certainly beyond anything AVN has to offer which doesn’t even let anybody come up to get anything.

“XRCO lost a lot of its luster when Holiday died,” Margold contends. “I do it but I simply go through the motions of doing it in a different way. To try to emulate Holiday is a very difficult thing to do.” However Margold says he’s about through with the XRCO.

“I have no reason to go back to them anymore- I’ve fulfilled my destiny for Holiday. They can have it. I don’t need it anymore. There’s nothing I really want out of it. When they defied me by putting [Richard] Pacheco in and then he didn’t bother to show up, why bother?”

According to Margold, Holiday never wanted Pacheco in the XRCO Hall of Fame.

“He did not feel that Pacheco had earned the position based on the fact that it should honor dicks, not thespians. Of course, Holiday’s dead so they had the opportunity to put Pacheco in. Then he doesn’t even bother to show up. That’s reprehensible. But that’s alright. The other thing I’m vehemently opposed to is that AVN is involved in the XRCO. I think they should have the Golden Globes and the Oscars but never the twain shall meet. But when I said that we’re going to separate from them, Mikey Ramone dared to utter the sentiment, hell no we won’t go.”

“And I think the Country Club is closed,” Margold adds. “I got some notice from them- maybe it’s true.”
