From www.dailymail.co.uk – Australian actress Sophie Monk has announced she is engaged to an American businessman 20 years her senior.

Sophie describes Jimmy Esebag as a long-time friend, ‘soul partner’ and a ‘male version of myself’.

She made the announcement on the Australian radio station 2Day FM’s breakfast show, which she co-hosts from LA with Kyle Sandilands.

The 31-year-old said: ‘I got engaged, and I kept it quiet so no-one’s heard much about him.

‘He’s a “keeper”. It feels right. I think you know when you know.’

Sophie described her engagement ring as a ‘chandelier’ which was designed by a jeweller friend of her fiancé.

She revealed he proposed to her at her unnamed favourite LA restaurant.

Co-host Kyle described Jimmy as a ‘top bloke, very nice, [with] very blue eyes.’

Esebag is chairman of the board of America’s Licensing Holding Group, which owns the rights to the Playboy brand.

Sophie was contestant on Australian talent competition Popstars in 1999, winning a spot in girl band Bardot.

She then forged a career as an actress, moving to Los Angeles and becoming a close friend of Nicole Richie.

In the past, Sophie has been romantically linked with Ryan Seacrest, Benji Madden and Entourage star, Kevin Connolly.

Last year Sophie was left broken hearted after she discovered her plastic surgeon boyfriend, Jason Diaz, in bed with another woman.

Sophie finishes her radio presenter stint on Friday when the show’s co-host, Jackie O, real name Jackie Henderson, returns from maternity leave.
