WWW- XXXchurch.com is back with a message to the world: “Say no to porn,” of course.
Now… say no to food for 40 days.
Chained to a pew and fasting food for 40 days is how Craig Gross and J.R. Mahon started spending 40 days on Aug. 5. Gross and Mahon are calling their 40-city tour “40-Days of Nothing.” It’s part of a new movement from XXXchurch called Starving Jesus.
Thousands of people across the country are planning on going without food, sparking a nationwide movement with Starving Jesus. “The tour isn’t just about not eating; the tour is about seeing people get out of the pew, get out of their comfortable, million-dollar church buildings and actually do something in the name of Jesus,” Mahon says.
Gross and Mahon are traveling by RV with their families and co-workers. The duo has put almost $30,000 on a credit card to make the Starving Jesus Tour a reality.
“This religious rule book needs to be ripped up, and we need more Christians to take risks and make a difference in the world today,” Mahon says.
The team has been invited to several churches with this message. Some churches have recently cancelled because of the controversy surrounding Starving Jesus. “Controversy doesn’t scare us, nor do we shy away from it,” says Mahon. One California Pastor was recently fired after reading excerpts from the Starving Jesus website from the pulpit.
Gross and Mahon will share this message at places around the country. From the Las Vegas strip and the Love Sign in Philadelphia, to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., the duo will get the message out regardless if it’s from inside the walls of a church or not.
Gross and Mahon chained themselves to a pew in a city near you starting Au. 5 in Oakland, Calif., and ending in New York Sept. 13.
