Sunset Thomas Interviewed

Porn Valley- Sunset Thomas, www.sunsetslife.com was a guest on KSEX this past week. Thomas visited The Wanker Show, with Wankus commenting that Thomas was one of the few girls in the industry he would consider hanging out with.

“She’s a firecracker.”

Though it had been a couple of years since he saw her, Wankus said Thomas was still smoking hot.

“That’s from all the sex, man,” she laughed. Thomas said she likes it about three times a day. Sunny Lane was co-host for the evening and Wankus was quick to point out that Lane and Thomas had a connection in that they both dated Dennis Hof at different times. Lane said she didn’t feel any weirdness because Thomas had done a lot for the industry.

Thomas also mentioned that she’s now a spokesmodel for www.vibrastrip.com.

“It’s a sex enhancer- it’s for males and females,” she noted. Thomas explained that it was something you put on your tongue and let melt.

“And within a couple of minutes it starts turning you on.” Thomas claimed that she wouldn’t promote something unless she tried it herself and that it does the job.

“I find that it works faster on the girls than the guys.” According to Thomas, the product was doing well although it was new.

Thomas, who’s originally from Missouri, also mentioned that she has a race horse named after her.

“Tori Spelling- different horse,” Wankus wisecracked. Wankus wondered whether race announcers got playful to make cracks like, “Here she comes out of the gate- she’s on all fours.”

“She always won by a head,” laughed Thomas. According to Thomas, the horse has been run in three races so far and is running on small tracks right now. But Thomas doesn’t get to see the horse that much but does love them.

“Back when I lived in Texas I had 220 acres and raised quarter-horses. I had 20 of them.” Wankus joked about her riding naked on them and Thomas said she actually did. Thomas also mentioned that she just finished dancing at the Aladdin in Vegas.

“It was mainstream-stuff.” Although she doesn’t have formal dance education, Thomas said it’s natural for her to get wild on the stage.

“I usually do a really good show- people who have clubs love to have me there because I’m a good dancer.” For the Aladdin show, Thomas said she had a choreographer and had to learn everything in two days.

“It’s a great show but you can’t show your tits,” rued Thomas. “It was my first mainstream-thing.” Wankus talked about how Thomas’ videos would feature hot, passionate sex but without her sticking a picnic table up her ass.

“The only thing I hate about the business now,” said Thomas, “is that it’s overwhelmed with bad product. The girls come in [and leave] so quick you hardly ever see a big name any more.” Wankus was inclined to say that the days of glamour porn are gone. Thomas remembered that when she was doing her scenes she’d be giving a guy a blowjob on the side to get him primed.

“Now the directors yell at me,” she said. Thomas also noted that because there was a smaller group of performers, the girls held together on prices.

“But I’ve always been in a contract, too,” she hastened to note. “And that’s why the fans always loved seeing me so much.” Thomas also mentioned that she did the remake of Misty Beethoven and got to sing in it. Veronica Hart was director of that movie and Thomas was very complimentary of her style. Thomas also noted that she directed movies as well, and, like Hart, was very picky about the way she shot her female performers in an attempt to bring out their best qualities.

From the way she was talking it also sounded like Thomas had been involved with the My Bare Lady auditions for FOX TV.

“It’s great exposure if you want to do it but you got to do a lot of shit,” Wankus conceded.

“I’ll be honest with you- they liked me,” said Thomas. “And I did a good job when I went in there and did everything in front of everyone. But I was straight out with them- hey, I didn’t finish high school. I can’t read very good. I was honest with them on it. The only bad thing about it is they’re going to London and shooting this in three weeks, and I need a lot of coaching in this. I just wanted to do it because I like to get out there and just push. It was going to be a great challenge for me. I thought that’s what would make it a great story- me being a little different from all the other girls. It was a weird experience but it was fun. I had a good time trying out for that. It was different because of the whole Shakespeare-thing.”

Thomas also talked about some documentary that was shot at her house but wasn’t clear on the name of it. Including that, Thomas has a book project in the works.

“I had Kent Wallace write my book for me,” she said. “He’s my publicist.” Thomas said it’s the story about her life, starting from when she was a child through the adult industry and things that happened in her personal life.

“Things that people didn’t know about it- because when I’m around my fans I’m always peppy, go-lucky, I don’t show my bullshit.” In the book, Thomas said she’s opening the doors to her private life.

“Do you open the doors to things that are not true like another famous book that came out recently?” Wankus asked provocatively.

“It’s funny how you say it- because my whole book is true,” said Thomas. According to Thomas after the publisher had given her the money, they wanted to change the deal and bring in Jenna Jameson’s writer.

“They wanted to re-write my book and make it sound more porno-like,” Thomas continued. “I said that’s not the book I’m making for myself. I want people to realize who I am and what I’m about. It’s a very interesting book. I’ve lived a very interesting life. They wanted to switch my book around and that upset me. So, guess what? I sent the check back. It’s either this- my writer or good-bye.”

Wankus and Thomas got on a discussion about doing things according to the dictates of your own conscience and instincts. Thomas recalled giving her niece Sunrise Adams similar words of advice.

“I give her credit- she stayed away from the party scene- she put her money away and decided to get out. Don’t stick in this stuff if you don’t want to do it. That’s why these girls are getting fucked up. They’re not figuring what the hell is going on.”

“If you need to get fucked up for a scene, you’re in the wrong business,” Wankus added. “What are you running from? Either you love it or you don’t. You’re either proud of yourself or you’re not.”

Thomas recalled that when she first went to the brothels, the adult business gave her hell for it.

“Everyone’s going to think we’re sluts and whores, now. Hello, I got news for you.” Thomas said she even got crap from VCA and Russ Hampshire.

“Even Russ said I’d never hire her again- because she went to the whore house. Guess what? A couple of years ago I’m a contract girl again. As soon as he signed the contract, I waited until he signed the contract- hey, Russ, remember you said you would never hire me again because I went to work at a whore house?”

Later in the show, Kent Wallice was given some time on the KSEX couch.

“What I like about you is that you’re so proud- you’re so happy to be a part of Sunset’s life,” Wankus observed. “It comes off- when you talk to people, they feel it. This motherfucker goes to bat for this chick. Anybody who has a clue can tell this guy cares about this girl.” Wallice said he was proud and blown away by Thomas at the same time.

“Working on her book, we got to know each other so intimately,” Wallice said. “She opened up every aspect of her life. There were times when she was crying. I even became closer to her on a personal level and then realizing talking stock of her personal situation, where she’s been, what she’s gone through and to look at her right now, you have to be proud.” Wallice said he dropped other clients to work exclusively with Thomas.

“I believe in Sunset as a person and quite, frankly, as a brand.” Thomas also noted that they’ve been friends for five years.

“I’ve been through three of his marriages.” According to Thomas, she met Wallice at the Bunny Ranch and he was working for Dennis Hof at the time.

Being honest about the thing, Wallice said his departure from the ranch was ugly.

“It didn’t necessarily have to be because people move on in life,” he said. “The fact that I moved on to another brothel and utilized the tools that I brought with me, the contacts, to be hired by him in the first place, I think it just pissed him off. He felt jilted I think and it’s understandable. I can appreciate it. But it was strictly business.” Noting that Thomas just shot for HBO’s The Cathouse series, Wallice suspected that Hof saw this as an opportunity to get Thomas back.Thomas said her boyfriend had just died.

“And she was weak, emotionally,” Wallice pointed out. “The deal, though, was I had to go with her- I had to be with her. Dennis, of course, not wanting me anywhere around. First he said, okay, he can it out in the parking lot. We said no, that’s not going to work. I have to be inside the building. I have to be in proximity to Sunset. That’s the only demand we have. He finally agreed on this. He said, okay, he can sit in the building but he can’t come through the front door. I was the Rosa Parks of prostitution. I had to go through the back door.”

Nevertheless, Wallice said fans will be very impressed when they see Thomas on the series.

Thomas recalled how Hof wanted to talk to her on the phone prior to her coming out and that she refused.

“I don’t want to talk to him- I want everything to be right there in front of the cameras, everything to be real. But I had to go face him and look him in the eye and realize I wasn’t in live with him any more. I was at one time in my life and that made me feel good to be able to out there and talk nothing bad about him. But I needed that closure for myself instead of always wondering.” Thomas added to say that she never went around and had anything bad to say about Hof.
