Old Forge, Pa- from www.scrantontimes.com – A New York man who just finished serving a federal sentence for tax evasion has bought an Old Forge strip club for $2.5 million, according to county paperwork.

Bruno Dangio is listed as the buyer of Old Forge’s Diamond Club, 107 N. Keyser Ave., in paperwork filed Wednesday.

In December, Mr. Dangio was sentenced to serve eight months on house arrest after pleading guilty to tax evasion. He served the sentence under the supervision of federal probation officers in the Eastern District of New York, according to Len Bogart, chief U.S. probation officer in Scranton.

As part of his sentence, Mr. Dangio paid more than $710,000 in back taxes, interest, penalties and fines.

His company, Formia Inc., had at one time held an interest in the Diamond Club, according to Times-Tribune archives. Through that company, Mr. Dangio also owned two other area strip clubs – the Pleasure Dome in White Haven and Superdad’s in Mayfield, which was sold more than a year ago.

The federal charges against Mr. Dangio were filed after a state police investigation into an illegal gambling ring at Superdad’s. Four people, including former Superdad’s manager Antonio Dangio, were charged as a result of that investigation.

Antonio Dangio, 43, was sentenced to serve up to a year of house arrest after pleading guilty to two counts of illegal gambling, though Lackawanna County Judge Michael Barrasse ruled he could continue working at the Diamond Club.

It was unclear what his role there was or if he continues to work there, and how he is related to Bruno Dangio.

Efforts to reach Mr. Dangio and former Diamond Club owner William S. Gilchrist Jr. were unsuccessful Thursday.
