This story is really quite amusing. Many moons ago Springsteen had this Hollywood babe wife and really traded down by cheating on her with Patti Scialfa. Now he’s accused of treating on Scialfa.
From www.nydailynews.com- Bruce Springsteen wasn’t dancing in the dark with a married New Jersey mom – it was just a “talking relationship.”
That’s what Ann Kelly’s angry dad said Thursday – accusing his son-in-law, Arthur Kelly, of dragging both her and The Boss “into the gutter.”
“My son-in-law and his attorney are just seeking sensationalism,” Stephen Carton of Ocean, N.J., told the Daily News. “They are dredging up mud that doesn’t exist.”
In divorce papers obtained by Star magazine, Kelly says his wife of 17 years “committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen … at various times and places too numerous to mention.”
Carton said the charges against his 44-year-old daughter “are just not true.”
“My daughter is guilty only of working out in the same gym as Bruce Springsteen and of talking to him,” he added.
Carton also said his daughter’s marriage was marked by violence and said she recently filed a domestic abuse complaint against Kelly.
Kelly, 45, was charged with simple assault on March 3 and removed from the family home in West Long Branch, N.J., police said. Information about the disposition of the case was not available Thursday night.
“This has been a heartbreaking shame,” Carton said. “She was hoping to save her children from the pain of such vulgarity.”
Arthur Kelly wants joint custody of their daughters, ages 13 and 10. He wants his soon-to-be ex to pay child support and for their college education.
Neither Kelly nor his lawyer, Edward Fradkin, could be reached for comment.
This is not the first time Springsteen, 59, who has homes in Rumson and Colts Neck, N.J., has been accused of cheating.
The Boss was accused of seducing his backup singer and current wife, 53-year-old Patti Scialfa, back in 1988 while he was still married to actress Julianna Phillips.
Three years ago, Springsteen denied a report saying he had an affair with a 9/11 widow whom he met in 2001.
Asked about Arthur Kelly’s explosive allegations, an official representative for Springsteen told The News, “Bruce stands by his Aug. 28, 2006, statement.”
In that statement, Springsteen dismissed the infidelity allegations as “unfounded and ugly rumors,” and said his marriage “remains as strong as the day we were married.”
