As there are a few proposals out there competing it will be interesting to see which one pulls ahead. The ‘community’ is on a steep learning curve with the technicalities of testing so I don’t suppose there’s no reason it cant do the same on cold beer and strong crypto.

There’s got to be some talent, some producers, some managers and even some fans willing to put in some time in toward creating a government proof, self managed AIM system for the, maybe small at first, but sustainable core of the future mammoth global industry.

I suppose if the industry wanted to keep the government from getting its hands on the actual database, it could be hosted in another country or could take advantage of one of several security models. But the way I envision it, any single person with access to the database could pull out anybody elses shoot schedule, partners, etc. So the way I’m imagining it, the information would be freely available, and the government wouldn’t find it difficult to find out what it wants to know – without even bothering with a search warrant. If AIM wants to keep everything under a tight lid and avoid letting the government know who’s shooting with whom, your suggestions would be very relevant.

I’m, when you want others to expand your work and help improve your product – but in this case it would just mean another layer of expense to maintain as a project.

Why don’t you write to AdultFYI.com or HardCoreGossip.com and make some security suggestionst to AIM? You might get a response about whether they’re ok with their present security. My impression was that they were just opposed to the County butting in, on principle, not because they didn’t want pertinent information to get out.
