The KSEX Robbery: Who Did It?

Joe Brandi writes at www.joebrandi.net: Some of you may not care about this blog but my motives now run deep why I am writing it so lets all play along and be detectives for a minute.

As I said in a previous blog…

Let’s not forget when KSEX was broken into and cameras were stolen. Just the cameras. Not the TV’s. Not the computers. Not the boards. Not the mics. Nothing but the cameras. Only 5 people had access to the KSEX building and had keys. Now I may not be the smartest guy in the world, but if things are stolen from a location and there are no signs of breaking in….well Einstein then it’s an inside job and somebody put the key in the door…walked in…and walked out.

What I am about to say is fact and in no way, shape or form am I accusing anyone of this felony.

* The KSEX studio was located at 9525 Owensmouth Chatsworth, CA 91311
* The “break in” happened between Sat Feb 2nd and Sun Feb 3rd 2008
* KSEX Owner Jon Belinkie owns an Insurance Agency in Maryland
* Five people had access to KSEX with keys
* All 5 knew the security system
* Belinkie was in Maryland at the time of the “break in”
* Nothing but cameras were stolen
* There was no sign of forced entry and no locks broken

Now, here is what happened in my opinion, again without knowing who actually “broke in”

Someone went to KSEX and opened up the door with a key. It was not Belinkie because he was in Maryland at the time ( and the Professor was in the Library with the knife ) They then walked straight ahead to where the security cameras are and turned them off. Only employees of KSEX knew where you could walk without being seen on the security cameras so someone walked in and walked straight to the cameras first. They then proceeded to steal, take or remove only the cameras and left everything else in the premise including computers, flat screen TV’s, boards, mics, speakers, etc.

Obviously, in my opinion, someone just wanted cameras. If I was a burglar I wouldn’t break into a place and just take 2 or 3 cameras when there are thousand of dollars in equipment all over easy for the takin and who can’t use a brand new flat screen TV or monitor?

Now here’s where this gets very interesting if it not already. There was never a big stink made over this. Ownership never cared enough to investigate or interview any of its employees and somehow the case was closed. Now, KSEX was close to closing shop at the time, but this is still very expensive equipment. Now either there is a burglar walking around who just needed cameras, knew the security system of KSEX and had keys or there is an ex-employee of KSEX is shooting porn right now with stolen cameras.

Will this case ever be solved or will it stay closed? Did Belinkie file an Insurance claim for the camera’s thru his own Insurance company?

Guess what?

According to the Chatsworth Police Department’s Det. Walton, this case is still opened. On the actual Police Report Belinkie told Detectives that “it must have been just an ex-employee who had access”.

Now the CAPD may not be the brightest bunch in the world but they are also not that stupid….stay tuned ; )
