UK [The Sun] – A STUNNING American porn star was flown by cops to Britain yesterday to be quizzed in the cash for honours probe.
Californian actress Courtney Coventry, 25, was grilled over her links to Labour’s chief fundraiser Lord Levy.
The blonde was asked about VIP treatment he offered her when she expressed interest in making a donation to the party.
Lord Levy introduced Courtney to Tony Blair and Labour’s high command at a swanky fundraising bash.
She and British-born husband John Coventry, 46, were invited to the glittering ball at the Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane in April 2004 after they pretended to be willing to make a big cash donation.
The pair called themselves the Count and Countess of Rozel to fool party fundraisers into believing they were serious donors.
They were invited for tea at No10 the next day and taken on a tour of the House of Commons and House of Lords where Lord Levy — dubbed Lord Cashpoint — wooed them.
Courtney flew to Heathrow yesterday morning from Nice to meet cops investigating allegations peerages were awarded for £14million in cash loans used to fund Labour’s 2005 general election campaign. She was met from her British Airways flight at the arrivals lounge in Terminal 1 and whisked away in an unmarked car.
Courtney, wearing a calf- length emerald green dress with plunging neckline, covered her face when The Sun asked her what help she could be to the police.
Her reply was: “No comment”. She was hustled away clutching her Louis Vuitton handbag by a plain clothes woman officer with two uniformed cops in tow.
The actress was driven to the Hilton Hotel in Green Park, around the corner from the chain’s flagship Park Lane Hotel — where she was photographed with Mr Blair three years ago at the gala for rich donors.
Later last night, Courtney told The Sun at the hotel: “I have spoken to the police. They flew me in. I cannot say anything else.”
Asked if she had been of use to the inquiry, she replied: “That’s up to them to determine.”
The Met refused to discuss her interview yesterday. Sources confirmed police paid for her economy flight, although she is thought to have upgraded to first class at her own expense. Taxpayers were NOT footing her hotel bill. One source said: “She is being spoken to for general background on political fundraising. There was no intention to cause the Prime Minister any embarrassment on his last day.
“She said it was the only time she could make it.”
Yesterday was also Lord Levy’s last day in his job. He has twice been arrested in the cash for honours investigation.
Earlier this year Courtney — a former girlfriend of Playboy tycoon Hugh Hefner — told of her shock at how easily she and her husband duped Labour after they paid £1,000 for tickets to the swanky bash.
She said: “The fake aristocratic title should have showed up in the vetting procedure. But it was clear that Lord Levy and the Labour Party were interested only in how much money I could give them.”
Courtney told how she and her husband were introduced to Mr Blair and wife Cherie. She said of her conversation with the PM: “We talked about his vision for the future and he praised America’s strong leadership.”
She also met Jack Straw. Courtney said: “He spent most of the time speaking to my chest.” She added: “Lord Levy said quite baldly that he would need £300,000 from us.
“He discussed donations and how appreciative the party would be, especially Mr Blair.”
Lord Levy has always denied any wrongdoing. The couple made NO donation to Labour.
