from www.detnews.com – A skin flick studio accused nine anonymous Metro Detroiters on Monday of pilfering porn.
Third Degree Films, an overseas producer of such porn titles as “Interracial Sex for Cash,” “Rough Sex for Sick Cash” and “Blondie in Trouble,” filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in federal court alleging nine people copied and distributed almost all of the studio’s website, which contained 51 movies.
The lawsuit threatens to expose the identities of nine people who allegedly stole the movies. The studio wants unspecified damages and to block the people from continuing to infringe on the copyrights.
Though the alleged thieves are unknown, Third Degree Films says each theft was traced to an Internet Protocol address located in the Eastern District of Michigan. Each address is assigned to a specific computer.
Those computers are located in cities that include Royal Oak, Livonia, Farmington, Oak Park, New Baltimore, Caro, Grand Blanc and Chesaning, according to the lawsuit.
The stolen flicks are so large that the defendants’ computers likely worked in conjunction over several weeks or months to download and distribute the website’s contents, according to the lawsuit.
Third Degree Films lawyer John Hone could not immediately be reached for comment Monday. The studio is based in the Caribbean island nation of Dominica.
