He will continue to assist FSC in various ways, but until a replacement is found all official Communications Department responsibilities will be carried out by Executive Director Michelle Freridge and the department heads, Legislative Affairs Director Kat Sunlove and Director of Membership and Services Scott Lowther.

“It has been an absolute privilege to work for FSC for the past year,” said Hymes. “I am so proud of what we have accomplished during this tumultuous time for the industry. I have nothing but respect for my colleagues at FSC, and for the many members of the adult community who have stepped up to assist us. I remain 100% dedicated to the mission of FSC, and have made clear to Michelle and the Board that I will continue to help in any way I can, for as long as I can.”

Hymes has been primarily responsible for all media contacts, FSC publications and the complete redesign of the FSC website. Over the past year, he has conducted several dozen mainstream media interviews, spoken on many seminars and panels, traveled to New Zealand to lobby ICANN against the creation of a .xxx top-level domain, and helped formulate all official FSC announcements.

“Tom’s insight into the online segment of the industry helped FSC reach out to and improve our services for webmasters and many other online members,” stated Michelle Freridge, “After only fourteen months of hard work, Tom leaves FSC with a legacy of industry respect and confidence in this trade association that is well deserved.”The Free Speech Coalition is the trade association for the adult entertainment industry. Its mission is to safeguard the industry from abusive government regulations and promote good business practices.

> posted on ADT: NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Director turned manufacturer Jules Jordan has expanded his director arsenal at Jules Jordan Video with the signing of Alexander DeVoe to an exclusive distribution deal. DeVoe’s Black Angel Productions joins Mike John Productions on the roster and, like John, DeVoe will own his own product.

DeVoe had been working exclusively as a director for West Coast Productions. An African-American with a considerable output of black on black and interracial titles, he is sure to give Jordan’s new company considerable clout in the rapidly expanding market for such product.

“I think Alexander is the top ethnic director for sure, if not one of the top directors in the business,” Jordan told AVN.com. “He’s the best at what he does with black girls and interracial. He’s one who understands the genre. He will be shooting ethnic and multi-ethnic titles here, and we will give him the widest distribution possible.

“I was aware of his work at West Coast,” he continued, “and his attention to detail is what really struck me. I like directors that are meticulous in the presentation of the female talent even before the sex starts. Alexander puts all the elements together perfectly.”

DeVoe has been active in the adult industry for seven years. “I set out a long time ago to change the way people view black stuff,” he told AVN.com, “even though that’s not all I shoot. There was a big part of the market that wasn’t being served, and that was the high-end product that people wanted to see.

“At West Coast I had the opportunity to experiment with a lot of different type of stuff. Anything that was going on inside my mind, I tried to make it come to life. My company was 100% responsible for everything that went into my movies, from conception to completion.”

He added that he shot “about 14 different titles” for WCP, including Erotica X, Black Ass Candy, She Got Azz, Sistas on the Wild Side. “I became a big part of their release schedule.”

He said he told Jordan during their initial talks, “When you get me, you’re getting something that is very unique within the industry.

“I feel like I’ve laid down a foundation for other people to follow me and make it easier for them to do what I do,” he added. “Through Jules Jordan I’ll be able to reach and connect with a lot more people.”

DeVoe’s first release on the JJV label is scheduled for November.

Both are talented, successful, guys, with the egos to boot, so maybe they figured they could do more damage working together, than throwing down with each other.

At the end of the day, if there’s money to be made, smart people will generally try to put differences aside.

On a side note, I think WCP is imploding. They have been hemorrhaging talent, in front of and behind the camera, for awhile, their most popular lines have run out of steam and their overall product has been faltering a lot this year.

I don’t know if James Alexander is throwing in the towel, but things look pretty unsettled over there.
