Porn Valley – Tony Santoro, Metro’s second-in-command, quit around 4:15 this afternoon and walked out the building. Santoro, showing no signs of emotion said, “It was great working with you guys- I’m outta here.” Santoro was reportedly offered Joey Wilson’s job but apparently refused it.
I’m also told that Metro stalwart Theresa Alves handed in her two-week notice today. I’m also told that industry veteran Bob Veze has been named art director. I’m told that the Alves move was pretty much to be expected while the Veze choice really came out of left field.
I also hear that there was a power struggle between Alves and newcomer Kara who was brought in by Metro from Rhode Island. “Kara was trying to tell Theresa how to do her job,” Mr. Metrosexual tells me. “Kara was brought in to put a bandaid on things, but you can see the metamorphosis. She’s become this untouchable walking through the hallways where she won’t look you in the eye. She was friendly in the beginning but now she does what she has to do to assert her unknown position. It’s wreaking havoc on a much more subtle level.”
Apparently there was also a meeting Monday in which general manager neil Persky warned that he didn’t want to be reading news leaks on the porn gossip sites.
