Wilmington, North Carolina- Intimate Bliss owner Greg Sakas who’s closing down his adult store in this city after a police raid last August reports that the same thing is happening with another adult store Pandora’s Box. Pandora’s Box is located at 5745 Oleander Dr within the city limits.
“This is No. 2 in Wilmington,” says Sakas.
“They’re right across the street not only from residential but a church. They’re biting the dust, too. Having said that, that leaves two major players which is The View [located on Market St.] and Adam & Eve [also on Market St.] which is also right across the street from a church.”
“Of course they want to get the small guys because I’m sure they feel they’ll probably have a fight on their hands if they have to go after Adam & Eve.”
“There’s no doubt about it,” states Sakas.
“They’re going to go after more than just me, now. And they haven’t given a clear justification on why they’re going after other stores because they haven’t given us one. And that’s why we closed.”
The burning issue in the case of Sakas’ Wilmington store seems to be zoning, although Sakas was originally given the green light to open his store. But the city now seems to be singing another tune.
Regarding Sakas’ other store in New Bern, North Carolina, and police attempts to close it there on a preponderance issue, Sakas has fought the city and the police in the courts on that issue and won. Sakas also had a lawsuit against both the city of New Bern and its police chief Frank Palombo. Sakas won that suit as well.
“We have a meeting set up in New Bern with the attorney for the insurance company, and Frank Palombo along with the city attorney for this Tuesday,” reports Sakas.
“Our case will be dismissed, and, at that point, we will have a settlement of our lawsuit.”
