Update: Girls Gone Wild Shoot Lacked a Permit

from www.latimes.com – The arrest of a “Girls Gone Wild” producer at a Hollywood Hills home Wednesday came after several complaints from neighbors, police said.

Officers were called to the home after someone noticed strange activity occurring in the back yard. Police arrived found 30 people involved in filming. Neighbors had called police previously about disturbances occurring at the address, police said.

On Wednesday, the unidentified man was detained on a misdemeanor charge of commercial filming without a permit and released at the scene of the “Girls Gone Wild” production being shot at a home on Vulcan Drive, LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith told The Times.

The home had been rented by a man who apparently was subletting it to filming companies, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the case.

Smith said the LAPD supports filming in the city but that such productions “need to be permitted and not detrimental to the community.”

“It doesn’t matter if you’re ‘Girls Gone Wild’ or Cecil B. DeMille, you need a permit to film,” Smith said.

The incident was first reported by TMZ.com.
