from www.newsnet5.com – An Olmsted Falls science teacher was arraigned on sex charges after allegedly having a relationship with a student.
Kristin Ostmann, 25, of Medina, was in court Friday morning on four charges of sexual battery. The Olmsted Township science teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student on four different occasions at a Red Roof Inn in Middleburg Heights.
Ostmann pleaded not guilty to all charges. The judge said she must submit to an HIV test and have no contact with the victim. A bond of $10,000 was set and the case assigned to Judge Joseph Russo.
Sexual battery is a third degree felony with a maximum of five years in prison on each count. If found guilty, Ostmann could receive anything from probation to 20 years behind bars.
Ostmann resigned from her teaching position on April 15. The prosecutor’s office said that a concerned parent brought the issue to the school’s attention.
