CANOGA PARK, Calif. (CBS) ― Sizzling took on a whole new meaning for a commercial building used by the adult film industry that went up in flames Saturday morning.
The fire was reported at 2:19 a.m. and about 100 firefighters responded to the blaze, said spokesman Cecil Manresa of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The Canoga Park, Calif.-based location was no stranger to red-hot situations, with several of the units used as studios in adult films, Manresa said. Most of the other spaces were offices.
No injuries were immediately reported, he said.
The accidental fire appeared to have been caused by a heating element which failed, he said.
About 20 percent of the building was damaged by the blaze before the fire was extinguished, he said.
