Just days after associates of her ex-husband claimed that porn sites were engaged in a big-bucks bidding war for footage that contained “about 15-20 minutes of total nudity,”Lopez has managed to put the kibosh on the release.
At least for now.
“[Vazquez] will respect the court’s orders,” said Armenta. “I think the judge was exactly right. The ultimate goal has been to work in this industry as a producer and she got the green light to continue to do that. We hope that Ms. Lopez will also obey the court’s order and not attempt to interfere with her right to make a film.”
Vazquez, who was producing a comedic film about a young Noa and Lopez, plans on moving forward with that movie.
She has no plans to appeal at this point.
Noa and Lopez were in 1997 and managed to last about a year before she divorced him and hooked up with Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Noa has claimed that he had forgotten about the tapes until Lopez gave them to him for safekeeping when she married hubby No. 2, Cris Judd.
Las week’s Noa’s manager, Ed Meyer, told E! News that there was “about 15-20 minutes of total nudity between all the different clips among the 27 hours of footage” of the former fun couple, but no actual intercourse.
For now, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has awarded the American Idol jurist a temporary restraining order blocking the release of the footage.
The footage was sold by Lopez’s first husband, Ojani Noa, to his current gal-pal/producing partner Claudia Vazquez, for the bargain-basement price of $1.
Noa is barred by previous legal wranglings with Lopez from releasing intimate details of their life together. But Vazquez had believed that a ruling last month had cleared the way for her to sell the footage.
However, once Lopez learned of the plans, she went back to court and asked a judge to keep her naked self on lockdown
Vazquez’s attorney, Cris Armenta, confirmed to E! News that her client “cannot release any portion of the home videos and does not have the right to use the footage at this time.”
The ruling blocks Vazquez’s bid to distribute the tape and requires Lopez sign off on the video for it to be released.
Starting bids for the tape had kicked off in the hundreds of thousands last week, Meyer had claimed. He predicted the final price was expected to soar into the millions with top-tier porn houses involved in the bidding. X-rated site Pornhub even told us the site had a place carved out in their celebrity section for the Lopez romp.
Looks like they’ll have to find another salacious celeb tape to plug the hole. Knowing what happens around Hollywood, we’re pretty sure it won’t be a long wait.
