BOONE, N.C. — A professor at Appalachian State University is fighting for her job after students claim she showed a video with pornography in the classroom.

The university suspended Dr. Jammie Price last month after she showed the film “The Price of Pleasure” in her introductory sociology course. The film, which she got from the university library, criticizes the porn industry and other businesses that make money off of it.

Students who were in the class told Channel 9 they weren’t warned about the film’s content beforehand.

Price has been suspended with pay and has collected more than 300 signatures in an effort to save her job.
