Michael Jackson’s brother claimed yesterday the peculiar pop star was roughed up by California sheriff’s deputies before he was booked on suspicion of molesting a boy.
“He was very much mistreated,” Jermaine Jackson said in a television interview. “The pictures will show you everything.”
Stacy Brown, a Jackson family friend, said the eccentric entertainer “has marks on his body to prove that he was physically bruised.
“In fact, from what I understand, he has a dislocated shoulder,” he said.
And Firpo Carr, who described himself as Jacko’s spiritual adviser, insisted in yet another televised interview that “Michael Jackson was brutalized” after he turned himself in on Nov. 20.
“As soon as he exited [the plane], they slammed him against the wall and frisked him like he had weapons of mass destruction,” Carr said. “That’s when he injured his shoulder.”
Chris Pappas, a spokesman for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, denied the allegations and noted that Jackson did not file a complaint.
Jackson was treated “with courtesy and professionalism throughout the process,” Pappas said.
Stuart Backerman, official spokesman for the weirdo warbler, didn’t comment on the accusations.
“I can’t really make any comment on that,” Backerman said.
Jackson was smiling and waving and didn’t appear to be ailing after he posted $3 million bail and emerged from the county lockup. He has denied sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy at the Neverland Ranch outside Los Olivos. He is expected to be formally charged next week.
