Adam Wilcox posts on www.xxxwasteland.wordpress.com – Transsexual XXX star Eva Lin has been making her mark on the TS side of adult since arriving on the scene in the summer of 2011. Gigs with top studios such as Kink, SMC Productions and Grooby have assisted in raising the starlet’s profile and Lin’s efforts were recognized earlier this year with a nomination from the Urban X Awards for TS Performer of the Year along with a cluster of Tranny Awards in February.
Additionally, Lin has been nominated for Best Transsexual Performer at the annual NightMoves Awards show on October 7 in Tampa Bay, Florida. You can vote for her here.
Eva kindly granted XXX Wasteland an interview to discuss her recent award victories and nominations, common perceptions of the transsexual genre of adult compared to the traditional side and much more.

Q: Let’s start at the beginning: Can you tell us how you initially became interested – and later involved – in the adult industry?
I have always wanted to be an adult performer. I started by making amateur videos with my ex-boyfriend. Then, I had met Yasmin Lee and I asked her for advice on how to get into adult films. She mentored me for a while. I guess I just went for it and did my first scene with Grooby, and that’s how it all started.
Q: Who are some of your favorite performers and studios to work with?
My favorite studio is Kink.com. They really know how to take care of their talents. I loved working with Christian and Wolfe Hudson. I also loved working with my girl Foxxy.
Q: You were recently nominated for TS Performer of the Year at the Urban X Awards and are currently up for NightMoves’ Best Transsexual Performer upcoming in October. Additionally, you collected a number of honors at this year’s Tranny Awards. How does it feel to be so highly recognized by the TS adult community and do you feel you have a solid chance at picking up the NightMoves award?
I believe that if I deserve to win, then I will win. All I know is I do my best when I perform. I never set myself up for disappointment because if I do, then all my hard work is for nothing. I am always a winner and stay a winner. A dear friend told me recently, “First, be best – then be first.” As long as I know that I have my fans who are happy and supportive of me, I am happy.
Q: Can you tell us about your website, EvaLinXXX.com, and what fans who sign up for membership can expect?
I have hardcore scenes and softcore scenes available on my website for members. I also have HD pics for members to enjoy. I will start doing more interracial scenes for my website in the future and also more solos.
Q: Do you feel that transsexual talent is treated with the same overall respect as non-transsexual talent in the adult industry?
I feel that in this industry, it’s all about how you give and take. Everyone is bound to get taken advantage of or disrespected in this industry. It’s really up to the talent to tolerate how people treat them. Of course, transsexual porn is still taboo, so it’s still brushed under the rug, but all that matters is the income. Not what anyone else has to say.
Q: What are some common misconceptions about transsexual performers that you have encountered during your time in the adult business?
That trans performers are more prone to HIV or other STDs. But all that nonsense just comes from uneducated individuals. It’s really sad that people can be so judgmental.
Q: Is there one erroneous belief about the porn industry in general that you wish to dispel?
Yes – it is not easy being an adult performer. It’s a lot of hard work and a lot of guts to deal with the emotional and psychological toll that it brings into one’s life. Granted, I love what I am doing and I enjoy being an adult performer, but it’s not easy. A lot of people think it is just as easy as having sex on camera. Not true!
Q: Let’s learn a little bit about Eva Lin, the person. Can you tell us where you were raised and how you would describe yourself growing up?
I was born in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States when I was 9 years old. I am now 23. I was raised by my grandparents in Northern California. I love to go hiking, dancing, and cooking. I love to cook! It’s my passion.
I’ve always loved everything glam and feminine growing up. I come from a very open family, so it was really easy for me being different. I love my childhood and I wish I could relive it once more.
Q: What are some of your interests and hobbies?
I love to hike. I recently moved to Los Angeles and there are a lot of hiking spots in L.A. I also like gardening and reading. I love reading about Eastern religions and philosophy.
Q: Let’s talk favorites – favorite T.V. show, movie, musical artist, etc.
I love the Food Network since I love to cook so much. I only watch two channels: Food Network and Animal Planet.
For movies, gotta be Kill Bill 1 and 2, and for music, I love hip-hop like Nicki Minaj.
Q: Is there one thing about yourself that you feel would surprise most people?
I am a big-time nerd. Only one of my friends know that. But seriously, I am an undercover nerd. (Laughs)
Q: Are there any upcoming or current projects in the works that you would like to mention?
I have a couple of projects that I am working on. Too early to mention anything yet …
