The adult industry has been abuzz over Digital Playground’s latest blockbuster feature Top Guns since the unveiling of the film’s trailer at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas last month. With a star-studded cast and budget unseen since the studio’s 2005 epic hit Pirates, DP expects Top Guns to rival – and possibly even exceed – the success of its predecessor.

Director Robby D says Top Guns is like nothing Digital Playground has ever produced before. Meanwhile, both the studio and numerous industry retailers are reporting record-breaking pre-order sales.

Top Guns streets on March 8 and stars Digital Playground contract talents Jesse Jane, Riley Steele, Kayden Kross, Stoya and Selena Rose.

Q: Can you tell us about your role in the upcoming Digital Playground feature film Top Guns?

I pretty much play the Tom Cruise role and Riley is my flight partner. We are female pilots trying to be fighter pilots. We get accepted to a Top Gun school to fight against the best fighter pilots and fly against the boys. The guys think girls can’t fly and we work our way into defeating them.

Q: Many adult industry personnel are predicting this movie to rival the blockbuster 2005 Pirates release. Do you feel the film has the potential to equal or even surpass Pirates in sales and recognition?

Oh, yes – this film is going to blow up the charts! No one has ever made this movie before, and it was one of the number one-movies of all time. With our special effects, the cast, the script, the director and everything, it will be a movie talked about forever.

Q: I read that you grew up on various military bases during your childhood. Did you find that this role came more naturally to you because of your background?

I found that it helped develop my social skills, the lingo and a bit of understanding of the military background.

Q: Are there any humorous or interesting stories from the Top Guns set you can share?

Well, there’s hilarious behind the scenes and you’ll see what happened. Too many things happened to describe just one!

Q: What was your favorite part of shooting such a unique and innovative movie?

I loved that no one has ever done it before and that we shot with real jets – that’s pretty badass!

Q: Do you enjoy the acting element of performing in adult films?

Yes, it’s fun. It’s like an ultimate role-playing fantasy, except other people play along.

Q: I know you have past experience in mainstream entertainment with a guest appearance on Entourage and also working alongside heavy metal band Drowning Pool in various musical projects. Given the crossover success of adult stars such as Riley Steele, Sasha Grey and Angelina Armani, are you interested in pursuing further mainstream opportunities?

I would love to do more stuff, it’s so much fun. I’ve had several other mainstream projects and some coming out soon.

Q: What are your feelings on being referred to by CNBC this year as not only one of the 12 most popular stars in the industry, but also “for many, the face of modern porn”?

I’m very honored, and it’s such an amazing feeling. It’s kind of hard to describe.

Q: You have been exclusively contracted to Digital Playground for your entire adult career. What do you enjoy most about working for the studio?

It’s a family. You aren’t just an object to them or a product. Plus, we have the best quality movies and productions. We are the best!

Q: I admire how you appear to be a very proud, dedicated parent despite your demanding and high-profile career. Do you find it difficult to balance family life with the travel schedule your profession requires?

Sometimes, yes, it’s overwhelming. But it’s worth it. Because of my job, my son can do everything he wants, like crazy family vacations – he’s spoiled. Sometimes I feel like I’m going to break down, but I have an amazing support system and everything always works out.
