CHESTER, South Carolina [heraldonline.com]- — A 36-year-old Chester man suspected of selling pornographic DVDs that showed women having sex with animals turned himself into authorities this morning, police said.
Mark Wayne Long Jr. of 610 Winslow St. distributed obscene material and also possessed “a quantity of obscene material for dissemination,” according to the arrest warrant.
On Nov. 26, 2007, police searched Long’s house, where they discovered more than 1,500 pornographic DVDs, Detective Scott Thompson of the Chester County Sheriff’s Office previously told The Herald.
It was unclear if the women seen on the DVDs live in Chester or surrounding city. Authorities also did not know if Long participated in producing the DVDs.
Authorities also seized 150 counterfeit CDs containing music, 1,300 DVDs of newly released movies, a small amount of marijuana and Long’s computer, Thompson said.
Long faces up to a five-year prison sentence, Thompson said. Long also could face multiple trademark violations as well as charges of selling counterfeit DVDs, police said.
Long remained in custody at Chester County Detention Center, an official from the sheriff’s office said. A bond hearing is slated for later today.
