LACEY, Wash. — from www.kirotv.com – Lacey police have arrested a middle school boy in connection with a child pornography investigation after he allegedly sent naked pictures of his ex-girlfriend to other students.

The 14-year-old boy is a student at Chinook Middle School. Police said he received a cell phone picture from his 14-year-old girlfriend showing her naked. When the boy and girl broke up, the boy allegedly started forwarding the image to other students Monday night.

Toni is the victim’s mother and said her daughter is devastated and regrets sending the photo.

“She did something out of trust. I suppose wanting to be accepted, loved. It was a mistake,” Toni said.

Lacey police told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that the naked image of the girl has now been sent to dozens of students in at least three different schools.

‘They did this with intention to harm her, the people who spread this picture,” Toni said.

Two teenage girls could also face child pornography charges for allegedly playing a role in spreading the naked photo to other students.

A Thurston County prosecutor said the teens could all face charges of dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

No final decision on charges has yet been reached, but a judge on Wednesday found probable cause exists to move forward with the case against the 14-year-old boy and one of the girls. The children have been released to their parents pending a final decision on criminal charges.

The victim’s mother said she hopes this incident is a lesson for all teenagers and their parents.

“I think they need to realize a lot of what they are doing, a lot of what they are doing, can do permanent damage to somebody,” she said.

A letter went home to parents in the North Thurston School District about the incident.

If charged and convicted of the class C felony, the teens would face a sentence of up to 30 days in detention. They would also have to register as sex offenders.
